The Unmonitored Global Food Supply

The Case for a Global Food Supply Oversight Bureau

Target: GFSOBFiled: 2026-05-02Read: 22 min

Abstract

The global food supply operates without a single binding international authority capable of enforcing consistent standards from seed to table — only a fragmented patchwork of voluntary guidelines and trade agreements routinely captured by the interests they are meant to govern. Applying the Fair Framework diagnostic to the food commons, this paper proposes a Global Food Supply Oversight Bureau (GFSOB) to maintain an aggregate, enforceable view of the system before consolidation becomes irreversible.
